LGBTQIA+ and Mixed Gender Training
This training extends your reach to two audiences too often left out of body image and eating disorder prevention programmes: LGBTQIA+ young people, who experience body image concerns at heightened rates shaped by minority stress and pressures, and mixed-gender groups, for situations where splitting groups by gender simply isn't practical or inclusive, particularly for non-binary young people.
Across the training you'll explore the causes and consequences of body image concerns and disordered eating in these communities, drawing on current scientific insights and examining how gender stereotypes, cisnormativity and cultural influences shape how young people feel in their bodies. You'll then work with tailored versions of The Body Project, one designed delivery to GBT+ men (PRIDE Body Project) and one for mixed-gender groups (EVERYBody Project), and build practical, affirming facilitation skills to create spaces where everyone feels they belong.
A natural next step for facilitators who have completed Foundation Training and want to reach every young person in the room.
